The wind in your hair, the g force in your cheeks! Whether you head to a local airfield or somewhere with a more exotic view, what bucket list is complete without a skydiving adventure?
You might think a skydive is just a skydive. One option – jump out of a plane and free-fall for a while before you open the parachute and float to the ground.
But that’s just not true! Here are some skydiving options from super safe to maximum adventure.
Get started with skydiving adventure…
Have a go at indoor skydiving. Skip the plane and feel the g force rush just a few feet off the ground. All fun, no risk!
You can find indoor skydiving in most major cities, and some smaller ones too! Just google ‘indoor skydiving near me’.
A little more skydiving adventure…
Try a tandem skydive. Head up to 14,000ft securely fastened to a professional who’s done this a hundred times before.
A lot of people do this type of skydive to raise sponsorship money for charity – it can be a great way to help a cause close to your heart. Or of course you can jump just for fun!
Here’s some things you need to know before you tandem skydive (don’t do what I did…!).
You could jump the highest skydive (16,500ft) in Auckland, New Zealand, or land on the beach in Mission Beach, Australia. Maybe you’d prefer a view over the Grand Canyon?
Maximum skydiving adventure!
You can take a solo skydive jump using a static line. This means you can jump without worrying about remembering to open the parachute – the static line does that for you. You’ll be coached to the ground by an expert over radio.
Or, you could take an AFF (accelerated free fall) course and become a real skydiver in your own right – all within one week!
Zorbing not for you?
